I keep having dreams that I am working in the library at UVU again.  I'm guessing this is due to me revisiting this journal, making private posts public and tagging them.  I've also taken Allen's sentimentality to heart.  He's been posting images on Instagram all the while longing for our days of old.  I am extremely happy in those dreams.  My job there has always been my favorite occupation and I miss the academic environment.  I am content in my work now, but that library made me happy.

I've made public all posts through December of 2001.

Went back to the beginning of this journal and started the task of making posts public.  I got through the first two months (September and October of 2001) and resumed the project tagging posts.

I have been feeling sentimental since Allen posted a picture on Instagram the other day.  Just him and a Uinta Anniversary Ale.  Matt Wright commented about our time at the National Ethics Bowl in Cincinnati:

  • quinlamaCheers!

  • mister.hillI'm talkin' about you, @quinlama !

  • quinlama@mister.hill I love you dude. I miss those days. I miss you.

  • matthewcwrightGood days, indeed.

  • matthewcwrightAlso, just for another touch of nostalgia, I judged the regional ethics bowl last weekend. Reminded me of our year in Cincinnati, getting lost and wandering the streets as @quinlama bellowed "Cincinnati, come to me!!!" Hilarious. Miss you dudes.

  • maddmountainLooking forward to seeing you this weekend Amigo

  • quinlama@matthewcwright I miss you too. We had some good times and I have the photographs to prove it!

I can't believe so much time has passed since I roamed the Provo streets with those fellas.  Good times with great dudes.  I need to get Marie on board with a road trip...

chris and jane, little fin, [livejournal.com profile] biloba and myself wandered the east side beach of utah lake this evening as the sun set. fin rode to and from on my lap...

i'lli have pictures that i'll post sometime next week.

[livejournal.com profile] biloba just gave me a passing shoulder rub on his way to bed with [livejournal.com profile] jentle. Good lord, do I need a woman with strong hands. Back rubs are so good for the soul.

on the stereo, as dim lights warm the house: miles davis: kind of blue - one of the greatest albums of all time

[livejournal.com profile] wickenden's reception (his daughter's wedding) was beautiful His daughter was stunning, while her husband handsome... live music by Zion Tribe and people danced on grass as white lights and oil lamps illuminated the landscape perfectly. All of d's planning (and stress) made the most memorable evening - his daughter and her groom are extremely lucky to have had such an amazing setting... At the reception, I met [livejournal.com profile] psilly, [livejournal.com profile] qzed, and one other person (because i'm bad with names, I hope someone will remind me). [livejournal.com profile] jentle has pictures, which I will post as soon as they become available...

[livejournal.com profile] biloba, who is a certified priest/bishop/holy man, married the two and, i was told, as i was not there to witness it myself, did an amazing job.

Now, back to my Sierra Nevada Bigfoot barley wine...

Chewing on [livejournal.com profile] biloba's crackers.

'Bout ready to head toward's [livejournal.com profile] wickenden's for a wedding reception. Nicole couldn't come down, Natalia is not home, Ryn is outta town, [livejournal.com profile] bouteloua has moved, Lucy Jane - Chicago... I'm going to drive over, see if I can catch a ride home and pick up my jeep in the morning, or just not drink more than two beers an hour.

*sigh*

Life is just more difficult at this point than I'd like it to be.
kazatasupa: (fatherson)
i'm greedy. i wish i hadn't given [livejournal.com profile] biloba that dead horse pale ale. i'm on my fifth beer and a sixth would be nice. i've got tequila in the freezer (i think), some vodka, maybe (come to think of it, i remember an empty bottle in the trash this morning - damn) ... i know i have some amaretto in the cupboard. mixing alcohols can be bad...

i'm on one: a bindge, a revolt, a resolution.

i've been drinking too much lately and i don't care what you think. fuck you :::said with a wink and a smile:::

axl rose: a disgrace, and perhaps a victim of mtv's psuedo intellectual rebellion. pop culture will take most of us in the end, won't it?

not me.

"nothing beats a dead horse"

i did.

[livejournal.com profile] biloba, with j.c.'s guitar, muted strings keeping rhythm as i played a scale...
weird shit when two people, who don't really know what they're doing, make music on the porch while drinking beer.

morning well spent with [livejournal.com profile] wickenden and [livejournal.com profile] biloba over coffee, cheese and beers...

now, onto studying? or, guitar?
kazatasupa: (fatherson)
billie holliday on the stereo. sitting in my spot, chair pulled from the other room (which i'm currently facing), windows and door open letting the still air carry the cricket's song to my ears. this evening's storm, with winds pulling dust into the air while spots of rain raised the humidity has left the air humid and heavy with particles...

[livejournal.com profile] biloba's beer is keeping me cool, however and the easy jazz is helping me breathe. oh, i'm feeling just fine.
kazatasupa: (fatherson)
as [livejournal.com profile] biloba likes to say: "have another!"

thanks, I will.
kazatasupa: (fatherson)
sitting at home. beer to my left, miles davis through speakers to my right, olives sitting next to my phone and i'm surfing e-bay in an effort to land a used 4-track recorder. i'd like to record my sounds... whatever that means.

J. and [livejournal.com profile] biloba are out of town this evening and the house belongs to me. silence. i thought of inviting people over, but that would be a waste of a grand solitary oppertunity. [livejournal.com profile] bouteloua is on her way out from california, where she's been spending time with her soon to be H-man. i hope she gets here friday - which would be tomorrow - as i am planning a weekend trip into the mountains with N. of course, she might not be able to go - her sister is moving to portland, oregon to earn a certification in some sort of yoga...

all is well... i'll follow that river, follow that river down...
kazatasupa: (fatherson)
hiked rock canyon this afternoon with jared. ended up on the loop that moves past the bath hole... didn't take my clothes off, just kept moving.

i had the entire house to myself today, as jason and [livejournal.com profile] biloba went to park city this morning for a bluegrass concert. this house is amazing when alone...

*sigh,* solitude.
kazatasupa: (fatherson)
slept until 11:00, when the sounds of bjork came blasting into my room from a room elsewhere... oddly enough, i didn't care. i kept under sheets in awe of my non-annoyed reaction to the violation of peace... shortly afterwards jared stopped by to borrow my phone. only then, after being assaulted by his high-energy negativity, did i my mood start to sour.

jared and i spent last night in spanish fork at grant's lounge, listening (i danced) to 2 and 1/2 white guys. they have a new sax player, who is really talented, but doesn't attack the music like the previous guy. it was more difficult to dance to, but i still had a good time. lindsay kept dragging me out, told me how cute i was, grabbed my cheeks... maybe kissed me there (i couldn't tell...). i think it was annoying her boyfriend.

[livejournal.com profile] biloba and i helped jason put his basketball hoop up this morning. i took some pictures and might post them at a later point.

that's it. lunch is ready. couscous.

mmmm
kazatasupa: (fatherson)
morning:

where did all the sleep go? to the bar... actually, i fell into bed sometime after 2:30 - having had a couple of beers at home and a stein of king's peak porter at the bar. [livejournal.com profile] biloba had [livejournal.com profile] jentle over last night (they stayed at the house as jason and i skipped down to the watering hole) and i'm not quite sure what's going on there. it's not my place to speculate, but i hope it's good...

off to a day long library meeting. i hope this coffee holds up.
kazatasupa: (fatherson)
sat on the porch, drank a 40 of Miller Genuine Draft (otherwise known as really bad beer), and played guitar for 40 minutes, or so. yes, i think i'll like my stay here. [livejournal.com profile] biloba is out back with chris, cutting his book shelf in half. i'm listening to temple of the dog, and thinking about how simple and focused things have become. life is not very complicated.

my head is screwed on tight.

jason is out with his son, having italian food somewhere provo.

i'm going to offer the fella's a couple wasatch pale ales.
kazatasupa: (fatherson)
I'm having trouble writing anything in detail. I guess I'm not interested, really... however, here's a list of things I did followed by things I thought.

Did:
Woke Saturday slightly hung-over
Ran into [livejournal.com profile] biloba at Juice and Java
Had coffee
Drove to Salt Lake City
Had more coffee at Salt Lake Coffee Break
Got bored
Called Nicole
Hung out for a couple hours
Had lunch w/ Nicole
Left Nicole, met up with Jared and Ryan
Went to Utah Arts Festival
Ran into Jason
Left festival after 3 hours and went to Jason's house
Drank beer, had dinner
Took Trax down to Port O Call
Drank a lot of beer and dance to 2 and 1/2 White Guys
Watched Jason hit on many, many girls
Walked back towards Jason's house.
Jason, in a drunken stupor, started running
When I got to Jason's house, he was no where to be found
After waiting for 20 minutes, I broke into his house through the kitchen window, took a shower and went to bed.
Sometime during the night I heard Jason come in.
Woke late Sunday morning
Realized that I had spent over 80 dollars in the bar the night before.
Found out that Jason passed out in someone's front yard.
Went back to Salt Lake Coffee Break for coffee
Drove home.
Went to bed really early.

Thoughts:
People are selfish
I absolutely hate sexually abusive people
I don't believe in love
I don't trust people
I loathe the way people act in bars
I really like dancing drunk
I have little, if any hope that the world will turn out as I wish it could.
I like girls who work in coffee shops
I can see age in my face
I'm scared

Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] biloba!

Keep rocking, man.
